September 27, 2016:
New Westminster & District Labour Council’s
50th Anniversary Celebration

‘A Half Century of Solidarity – Together we are Golden’ is the theme for the New Westminster & District Labour Council’s 50th Anniversary Celebration. Please join us on Saturday, October 22nd, 2016 @ 5:30 pm, at the Anvil Centre in New Westminster, to celebrate this important milestone.

Our members are what make this Labour Council a vibrant,  volunteer driven organization. Members invest many hours of their time to work on projects, events, campaigns and represent the Labour Council within the community. It is through our collaborative efforts that we have built a Labour Council that is widely respected in our region and indeed, across Canada.

We work with so many talented people with big hearts and a desire to make the world a better place. The union movement represents an experience in solidarity and generosity that is unparalleled.

On October 22, 2016 we will celebrate 50 years of History and Solidarity at the beautiful and impressive Anvil Center in New Westminster.  Event tickets are $25.00 each, making this an affordable evening event for everyone.   Contact Information.

BCARTW Dues Reminder

This is a friendly reminder that your membership dues in the BCARTW for are now due. The BCARTW membership year is from May 1 to April 30. Dues are still only $10.00 per year and you may pay dues for future years (e.g. $20.00 for 2 years). See the ABOUT tab above and select DUES for mailing details.

The BCARTW hopes you will continue to support the society as it continues to address issues and press for change on matters that our members tell us are of major concern to them; issues such as lobbying the TWPP Trustees for increases in our pension benefits and improved medical and dental benefits.

TWU, USW Local 1944 Unit R55, the retiree local in BC, is able to send delegates to TWU conventions where they can debate issues and vote on matters affecting retirees. However, the TWU does not fund the Local in any way. Unit R55 receives all of its funding from the BCARTW. Members such as you make it possible for Unit R55 to continue working for the interests of retirees.

If you currently pay your annual dues by cheque, we encourage you to consider paying your dues through your credit union or the Bank of Montreal. Enclosed is a copy of our dues payment options. For more information, you can visit our webpage at http://www.bcartw.ca/forms/, or call toll-free 1-888-898-5755.

We thank you for your past support, and hope to hear from you soon so we can all work together on the causes that are important to our members.
